Make a basin and mirrors
Exodus 38:8 They made the bronze basin and its bronze stand from the mirrors of the women who served at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #391 A Wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord (#446 in previous version)
The wilderness that the Israelites went through had every reason to be a difficult journey. In times like this, there are people like Joshua and Caleb who hold on to God’s Word as it is. Most people waver before problems. In this process, evil men can appear as well. These people fog the Gospel and cause division and conflict in the wilderness. However, regardless of the many problems through the journey in the wilderness, God led His people to the land of Canaan. The Word of God will be fulfilled. What is the covenant we must hold on to today?
1. Today’s circumstances are the answer.
We need the eyes to see the circumstances and problems we have today. If you are bad at studying and fail a test, then it is God’s answer for you to pray, gain strength and study more. At times, things may get worse even though you did nothing wrong and did your best. If so, then inside that is God’s plan to give you important answers. Was being sold as a slave an answer to Joseph? Or was it a failure? Of course, it was a true answer and an important time schedule for Joseph. Moses’ 40 years in the wilderness may seem like a time of feeling as a fugitive, but it was the time of being prepared as the greatest spiritual leader. If you do not open your eyes to see this, then your suffering will continue.
2. You must receive the strength that God gives.
In the Scripture, God commands to make a basin. A basin is today’s washbowl. In other words, it means for us to wash our hands before entering the temple. He wants us to look at ourselves in the mirrors, throw away our old self and prepare a new appearance. It is important to realize and wash our hands of the mistakes, faults, and sins that we commit with or without knowing. When we stand before God with a clean conscience, He will give us grace and answers right away. This is because we are His children. If we receive strength from God, then we are all right even in the midst of problems and failures.
3. Do not be discouraged; just look to God.
Enjoying the three feasts and the blessing of the tabernacle is like the worship that we must give today. Also, holding on to the Word that God gives to us today is the most important thing in worship. We also need to experience tasting the Word being fulfilled. A person who has the mystery of worship has no need to be discouraged. Even though he has something to be discouraged about, he only needs to look to God. For those who hold on to the mystery of the Gospel, it becomes God’s power.
-Look closely at yourself before God, and meditate on what you must renew.
