Lesson of the wrecked ship
Acts 27: 9~26 And said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.’ So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me. (24~25)

In the Scripture above, Paul was arrested for sharing the Gospel and as a result entered a ship in order to stand trial before Caesar as a prisoner. Paul who was arrested as a prisoner prophesied before others that the ship was to face a storm. However, no one took his words into consideration and eventually a storm had hit the ship. This age does not consider the words of the evangelist of any importance. Through this Scripture, we must place into our hearts the lesson learned from the wrecked ship.
1. Evangelist Paul who was falsely accused
In every age and nation, despite the successes and powers of any individual, in the end they all fell in the face of hardships. However, evangelists will never falter no matter the problem. It is because God’s desire solely lies within evangelism. In the Scripture, Paul was falsely accused and framed by the Jews despite not having committed a single crime. The Bible consists of evangelists who have all been accused for sinning, persecuted, and labeled as a heresy. The people all ignored the words of Paul as they mocked him.
2. Paul who was taken to Rome
Many people believed that they could live a good life without listening to the Word of God. Hence, they ignored the words of the evangelist. In addition, the storm suddenly hits. The storm signifies something that mankind can never block. When the storms hit, the direction will be lost and confusion will arise. This problem can never be solved by efforts or science; it is something mankind can never overcome. That night God approaches Paul and allows him to realize his commission once more. “Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar.” If the commission of the evangelist still exists, then there is no reason to die. Vice versa, if there is no reason to evangelize, then there is no reason to live.
3. Paul, the main figure of the age
The moment the storm hit, all the rankings did not matter, the captain’s experience was all worthless, and the money of the owner had no use. Then, God gave Paul the words to deliver. It was that although the storm had hit the ship, no one would die. When everyone believed in the words of Paul, the storm became calm. At the height of crisis, Paul stood as the main figure of the age. The figure to save the owner, crew, and captain was the evangelist. This is the lesson we must receive.
- We have no reason to fear people, circumstances, problems, or hardships. Everything remains in God’s time schedule. What has been attached to you for the salvation of lives? Create a list of potential individuals that must hear the Gospel and attempt to share it with them.
