Make the Ark of the Covenant!
Exodus 37:1~9 He made one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; at the two ends he made them of one piece with the cover. The cherubim had their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim faced each other, looking toward the cover. (8~9)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #236 Jesus Shed His Blood for Me (#144 in previous version)
When various problems come your way, how do you deal with them? Children of God must solve them fundamentally, rather than turning a blind eye or passing it by hastily. We must make the fundamental and realistic choice of faith. If one thing goes wrong, you might fall into resentment, anxiety and fear, so it is necessary for you to discover that you are a child of God. There was never a time when the darkness defeated the light or when the falsehoods stood before the truth. It seems like we are facing crises, but God said, “I will be with you to the ends of the earth.”
1. Why did God send Israel to Egypt?
Because of the famine that struck Canaan, Joseph’s 70 family members entered Egypt. Israel first wielded power as family of the governor, but when a king who did not know Joseph came into power, they immediately fell to slavery. What might be the reason why God sent Israel to Egypt in this way? God wants His people to know the world. He wants us to have knowledge and know what it means to be the best. There is a reason why He placed us in suffering, and He trained the Israelites for what is absolutely necessary before they entered the promised land. Therefore, when faced with a hardship, you must not merely stare at the problem. Instead, you must also know that this is the greatest time and that the Lord knows about this issue and pain the most. To a child of God, success is not really succeeding and failure is not really failing. Knowing the reasons, a Christian can endure with hope.
2. Why did He allow them the path of the wilderness?
A child of God must understand the power of the Gospel. Within that, all you need to do is uncover and enjoy the blessings of a child of God. God commanded the Israelites to build the tabernacle and the holy place to the best of their abilities. There, they built the Ark of the Covenant, which became the center of their lives. The atonement cover and cherubim that covered the Ark of the Covenant exemplified God’s guidance and power, and through that He allowed them to experience the grace of God’s aid through miracles, and enter the world.
3. Why did He allow them to remain there for 40 years?
Ultimately, the children of God must live in, fight, and conquer the world. We must reenter the world. It is a field of unending unbelief, disappointment and problems. After Moses, when God conquered Canaan through Joshua, just like He was with Moses for 40 years, He promised to be with Joshua. That same God is with me now. Therefore, simply go forth with the esteem, pride, and confidence of the Gospel.
- Meditate deeply on the God of world history and Biblical history being with you today.
