Christ who is with the evangelist
Acts 23:1~11 The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.” (11)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #412 Far Away in the Depths of My Spirit (#469 in previous version)
If we were to witness, just once, God working in the field, amazing works will arise. And if we were to truly enjoy the Gospel we have received through scheduled, deep and 24-hour prayers, we would see God’s wonderful answers. In every age, it seems like those who block the Gospel and evangelism are better off and the evangelists are troubled, but that is very brief. We must not be deceived by this. Christ is with the evangelist.
1. Take courage!
Christ told the evangelist, Paul, to take courage. Christ is always with the evangelist and always protects in the face of crises and fulfills all promises. God told Paul to take courage for he has to testify of the Gospel in Rome. If we are surely the evangelists of this age, there is no more reason to worry. Hardships are temporary but that becomes an eternal path for world evangelization. Darkness is eternally destroyed before the power of the Gospel.
2. Power of the Gospel
The power of the Gospel is like a single seed falling on to fertile land and yielding fruits to the hundreds. It is also like a barely visible mustard seed growing into a huge tree. It may seem like we are just devoting ourselves, but we possess a great field of treasures. Knowing the power of the Gospel is similar to the joy of discovering a valuable pearl. One who has realized the Gospel becomes a firm rock. The gates of Hades will never overcome you. We possess the keys to the kingdom of heaven. The Lord who holds all authority in heaven and earth is with us now. No one can block the power of the Gospel.
3. How must we start?
Our inadequacies, church authority, even a nation cannot block the Gospel. If we enter into scheduled, deep, and 24-hour prayers, we will gain incredible strength. And if we are enjoying this strength within prayer, we will see the future and the answers will already be in the field. Henceforth, we will never be shaken. We must now live today classily. Many people must see us and want to believe in Jesus. Consider all meetings as precious. From today on, we must discover small applicable items through the pulpit messages. And if we catch on to the rhythm of prayer through scheduled, deep and 24-hour prayers, great power will be given to us.
- What is the Word, prayer and evangelism I must firmly grasp today? Instead of passing it by, seek it out and record it. Succeeding in our today through this is the proper start.
