Grabbing hold of today’s Word

Living the life of an evangelist does not refer to casting aside your studies and work and only going out to evangelize. It is about grabbing on to today’s Word that we as children of God must rightfully receive and finding people that we must help with prayers. And it is about finding and enjoying the blessing that stems from living the life of an evangelist. If so, then how can we live such a life of an evangelist?
1. Meditating on the Word
Rather than reading the Bible a lot, it is important to think about why God gave us this particular Word today, meditate upon it, and apply it to our life. In addition, we must reflect upon ourselves on our pulpit message. When we have God’s message for us, we can uncover the answers that come in our field. Giving thanks and praying for all events, meetings, and thoughts is the start of evangelism. It doesn’t work just because we change our appearance, personality, or circumstances. When we apply to our life God’s Word as it is, we can uncover God’s plan. When we have the blessing of meeting with those whom we can connect with in terms of evangelism at such times, great works will arise in our field.
2. Finding a solution within the problem
There are times when problems come to us as individuals as well as our church. It may seem as if problems came, but what had to come finally came. There is a reason why we face problems. This is the rightfulness. Problems came as a matter of course, but there is something that God desires from us in the midst of those problems. This is the inevitability. At this time the opportunity that we must grasp finally arrives. This is the absoluteness. All problems are opportunities. We must have the eyes to see our problems with rightfulness, inevitability, and absoluteness. As we think about the problems that we are facing today, ask about rightfulness, inevitability, and absoluteness and find answers.
3. Saving lives
There may be strange people around us. However, we shouldn’t react to or deal with them, but we should just yield to them and help them out from behind the scenes. God will work at such times. It becomes difficult for us to read the Bible and pray as we spend frantic mornings getting ready and live with a hectic schedule. Even in the midst of all the busyness, however, if we pause, find some spare time, and begin living the life of an evangelist, we will receive the blessing of evangelists through which people around us and our field are revived.
- As you meditate on your pulpit message, think about the blessings that you will receive and have received today. Search for answers that God desires from the problems. And as you look at the people around you, think about what you, as someone who has the Gospel, can do and what you can do to help them.
