Moses’ special announcement
Exodus 36:1~7 Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: “No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” And so the people were restrained from bringing more, because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work. (6~7)

People need intellect and wisdom as they live. However, the Bible tells us there is something more paramount. Those with the Gospel must open their spiritual eyes. Moses was educated in knowledge for approximately 40 years in the Egyptian palace. However, he spent the next 40 years of his life as an abject failure and a runaway fugitive in the wilderness. Though it may seem that he is merely suffering in vain in the wilderness, it was then that God blessed him greatly and prepared him as a leader to lead his age. It is imperative that we realize that God’s hand and guidance is within my field today at this very moment. How can we open our spiritual eyes?
1. Spiritual eyes of knowing the Gospel
In Genesis 3, man was forced into a state of curses and destruction as a consequence of the sin of leaving God (original sin). Even the very earth was cursed, and the fundamental problem began in mankind, being relayed even to their children. In the background was Satan, who gave continued suffering and failure to man. Moses was a person who was able to see this truth through the spiritual perspective. He was able to understand and record accurately the covenant of the blood and the promise of the offspring of the woman in Genesis 3:15 and Exodus 3:18. While we must hone our skills and heed to our studies, what is most vital is that we see the spiritual matters through the lens of the Gospel.
2. The reason things do not take place even after knowing the Gospel
It is possible to languish in our identity of curses even after coming to know the Gospel. After he realized the Gospel, God commanded Abraham to leave Ur of Chaldea, the land of his people and his father’s household for the land directed to him by God. We must leave behind our past, our scars, and our subpar backgrounds and enter instead into the covenant. After the Israelites left Egypt, God changed their nature of unbelief, rooted in the culture of Egypt, for 40 years before they could enter Canaan. We must transcend the circumstances of our problems, past the point of unbelief and curses, and instead be led by God who can change entire destinies.
3. The true strength given by God
Before the Israelites remained the amazing miracles of crossing the Jordan River and defeating Jericho. Battling with the giants left in Canaan and the Anakite battle still remained. It is for this reason that God had the Israelites taste and enjoy strictly His power. Becoming tabernacle-centered and knowing and enjoying the three feasts were a source of great strength and power. If we possess this very same strength, other blessings, including financial blessings, will follow. Today’s Scripture tells us that the Israelites received enough blessings to be able to pledge offering in support of the holy sanctuary, so much so that Moses was forced to make a special announcement asking for an immediate cease to the offerings. There is a special power and grace God has reserved to distribute to His people. The world may not know it, but this is the blessing God has reserved to give to those of us who know the Gospel today.
- Let us enjoy in great abundance today, in our past, and in the future the otherworldly spiritual power of knowing the Gospel!
