Today’s Scripture reading shows a scene where Joseph interprets a dream when the elite was facing a difficulty. The elite will crumble uncontrollably if they face spiritual problems one day that they can never resolve themselves. That is why God has called us, who have the Gospel, not just as the elite but as the ‘super elite.’ It is because only then can we save the world without crumbling even after we have success. Starting now, what must we do to save the world?
1. Grab hold of today’s Word, today’s prayer, and today’s evangelism
Even as a slave and a prisoner, Joseph held on to today’s Word. He knew that all the things that were happening to him were part of the course of his life, through which God’s Word was being fulfilled. At the same time he held on to today’s prayer in the midst of such circumstances and held on to today’s evangelism as the evidence given by God. We must grab hold of these daily. Only then can we become the super elite who save the elite. We must make it a prayer topic to become the super elite and take up the challenge. Even when problems and hardships come, we must absolutely hold on to these three things. Personalizing, or taking the Word, prayer, and evangelism personally is the most important key to the Gospel movement of moving the world.
2. Prepare the basics
Starting now, we must prepare the basics along with today’s Word, prayer, and evangelism. First off, we must grab hold of God’s power with which we can overcome any circumstances. Second, we should regard reading books not just as reading books but as having great meetings that take place in the context of today’s Word, prayer, and evangelism. Especially, we must read many of the biographies about people with faith. Third, Jewish people, who have great influence on the world, have a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, a coming-of-age celebration, when they reach 13 and that is when they look for and prepare for their specialties. If we grab hold of today’s Word, prayer, and evangelism, we can gain the sense of specialty and uniqueness, with which we can even save the elite. If we have the basics prepared in the Gospel, we will not waver or be discouraged even in the face of problems or difficulties.
3. Enter into the enjoyment of prayer
The super elite must understand and enjoy the power of prayer. Scheduled prayer is the time when we find the important spiritual rhythm. Tremendous power will be revealed when this becomes part of our nature. Starting now, we must create important pieces of work in our life one by one. David left behind 73 psalms. Just like him, we can write, create poems, or compose music inside today’s Word, prayer, and evangelism. All of these are great answers that stem from the enjoyment of prayer.
