Those who cannot wait
Exodus 32:1~14 “Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Israel, to whom you swore by your own self: ‘I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and I will give your descendants all this land I promised them, and it will be their inheritance forever.’” Then the Lord relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened. (13~14)

The content of today’s Scripture reading tells us that the Israelites reverted back to their old nature in the face of great hardships as a result of the lifestyle of slavery and idol worship they acquired during their time in Egypt. The heart that we have, the thoughts that we harbor, and the state of our souls when we are young determine the course of our entire lives. If the Gospel does not become etched inside of our hearts, we may crumble at any moment. When spiritual problems come, most people cannot wait; instead, in their haste, they employ all sorts of methods to solve that problem. All we need to do is wait in prayer, but we simply cannot wait. What must we do in order to receive healing?
1. God has a plan.
Though it is a sure fact that we must enter into Canaan, if perchance along the way, there are obstacles, God has a plan within them, too. For the most part, we worry about problems that haven’t even come yet. At other times, we get afraid because of problems that we see far off in the distance. However, these things are not the problem. If there is a problem, there is also a sure answer within it, and God has a plan. We just need to begin the earnest prayer before God who has a sure plan for us.
2. We must restore the blessings of the wilderness.
God permitted suffering to the Israelites so that they could once again restore the blessing of the blood covenant, just as they experienced the 10 miracles when they were coming out from Egypt. In addition, God desired for them to discover the blessing of salvation of the Passover; of the power of God being with them of the Pentecost; and of the kingdom of God coming upon them of the Ingathering. He simply wanted them to follow after the Ark of the Covenant. Even in the face of hardships, He wanted them to restore the life centered on the tabernacle and to, in turn, relay this blessing to their children. When we restore the Gospel through normal means, the works of healing will arise.
3. We must hold on to the sure promise regarding the future.
We just need to have hope for the future and hold on to the sure promise. The miracle of the Jordan River splitting took place when the Ark of the Covenant went out. Where the Ark of the Covenant went, the sun and the moon stopped in the sky, and Caleb, who was old in his years, held on to the covenant and conquered the hill country of the Anakites. Just as there were blessings that the Israelites must restore along the path of the wilderness, there are things that we must also restore as we live our lives today.in other words, we must enjoy the plan of God who has called us, and anticipate the blessings that are waiting for us in the future.
-What is the sure plan that God has for me? Let’s pray that today may be a day of hope of finding and enjoying the blessings that are prepared for us in Christ.
