There are countless leaders in the world. But the leaders who move the world and transform the age are those who know the power of God. The representative person for that is Daniel. Daniel was held captive in Babylon, but with God’s power, he became the prime minister who saved Babylon. Through Daniel, the authority of God and Israel was restored, and ultimately he was able to govern Babylon, as well. How did Daniel realistically enjoy God’s power in his life and become a leader who saved the era?
1. Resolution made as a public official
The passage says Daniel resolved not to defile himself, meaning he always made decisions based on God’s will. This is the reason why Daniel succeeded as a leader. However, most people live meaningless lives. And even if they do have meaning, it is either their own will or erroneous wills. If they happen to succeed through that, even greater spiritual problems and curses befall them. You must hold fast to God’s will like Daniel.
2. As the prime minister
When Daniel was appointed prime minister, all those around him were envious of his success and slandered his name, scheming against him. On top of that, Daniel was thrown into a lion’s den to die. However, Daniel was not shaken at all and stood before God. In Daniel 6:10 it records that although Daniel had learned that the decree had been published, he got down on his knees and prayed just as he had done before. And even amidst the crisis of being thrown in the lion’s den, he did not waver and simply prayed to God as he had always done. This is when God protected Daniel with the blessing of the throne and rescued him.
3. At the Tigris River
Daniel was able to see the age as he prayed in fasting near the Tigris River. He discovered God’s plan for the age. Daniel 10:10 says God sent His angel to touch Daniel and set him trembling on his hands and knees. Likewise, when you embrace the era and field and pray an important prayer, God will give you the Word and answers. He will mobilize the heavenly hosts and open the blocked roads. This is the blessing a leader who possesses God’s power will receive. If you receive this blessing, you can save the era and overcome all problems and crises.
