Asyncritus
Romans 16:14 "Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas and the brothers with them."
♬ Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #442 I Come to the Garden Alone (#499 in previous version)
The name “Asyncritus” means “incomparable.” Paul wrote in his letter to greet Asyncritus. Asyncritus was an individual who had entered into the blessing of Rome evangelization. How did he receive such a blessing? How can we grab hold of God’s great works and the blessing of world evangelization?
1. Another mystery
When you go out into society tomorrow, you have to live like everyone else, but you must possess another mystery. How much you enjoy this mystery will influence whether or not you have strength. The people who were victorious in their walks of faith all possessed this other mystery. Asyncritus was also an individual named in chapter 16 who possessed the mystery for Rome evangelization. If you have assurance that you are a child of God, even if you do not pray, answers will come. However, if you do not know the mystery of prayer, when you receive God’s answers, the time schedule will not be right and you may realize the answer after it occurs. If you enjoy the mystery of prayer, three things will happen.
2. Answers you receive when you possess the mystery of prayer
First, you will see God’s great answer. Because all people are sinful and cannot understand God’s glory, God gave us the Gospel and the spirit of sonship. No one can separate us from the love of God. This blessing was prepared ages ago. This is God’s grace. Second, you will see the important future. Why do people wander and face failure? It is because they cannot see their future. When you start scheduled prayer, you will receive grace and see the future. To what extent can you see the future? “I must visit Rome also,” (Acts 19:21). “You must also testify in Rome,” (Acts 23:11). “You must stand trial before Caesar,” (Acts 27:24). As these verses show, Paul saw a clear future. Third, you will possess strength that others do not know. God gave Paul a message that He fulfilled, and the doors of evangelism continued to open. If you receive the blessing that Asyncritus along with the others received in chapter 16, God will give you the strength to be a host and provider for all of the evangelists.
-God has given us the mystery to win over this world. God used Asnycritus and other individuals in chapter 16 greatly for Rome evangelization because they enjoyed this mystery. If this is the case, where can I start? Pray for the field Forum Topic and for strength to save the world.
