The people of faith in Hebrews 11 who changed the age had common characteristics. They held on to the Word of God and enjoyed the true answers given by God with steadfast faith. A person who can see all things with the eyes of faith is not shaken by small hardship or temptation and can even stake his life for the Gospel. Also, he can experience the great work of God that the world is not worthy of. In order for the children of God to triumph in the world that is filled with the forces of darkness, what kind of faith should they restore and enjoy?
1. One who has the complete faith of the Old Testament
Many people in the Old Testament fell into sin and corruption within their state of having left God, and the age of Nephilim came in which people wandered in spiritual problems. At this time, God chose Noah who had faith and gave him the gift of the promise of the ark and salvation. Caleb and Joshua confessed faith boldly in front of the Israelites who were filled with unbelief and complaints and were able to experience great victory. Likewise, God raises those who hold on to the covenant and make a firm resolution as the witnesses of the true answers given to those with complete faith.
2. One who has the complete faith of the New Testament
Romans 16 records the victory of the Early Church members through complete faith. Even amidst great hardship and persecution, the Early Church members did not employ worldly methods; instead, they sustained their faith before the Roman church, church authority, and Roman military with the spiritual strength that is unseen to the eyes. In order to discover God’s plan within the hardships you are going through, you must possess the mystery of only prayer and experience true answers through complete faith.
3. One who has the faith within church history
Martin Luther held on to the Word, “The righteous will live by faith,” and was used in a historic way for the Religious Reformation. Evangelists like Moody and Wesley overcame their limitations, relied only on the power of the Gospel, possessed complete faith, and exerted the great influence of the Gospel wherever they went.
