The greatest king in the Bible, without a doubt, is King David. However, the person who took oil and anointed David, relayed the covenant of God to him for his generation and reared him into a king was Samuel. He was well aware of the problems that befell mankind after they were separated from God and believed that God would send Christ to resolve all problems. Samuel relayed this fact to David, and David became the king that changed his generation with the Gospel. How was Samuel used in saving a nation and a generation?
1. He grew up as a Nazarite
Samuel was reared as a Nazarite. A Nazarite is someone whose entire life is consecrated to God. A Nazarite is a leader who knows about the Gospel and spiritual problems and understands why the problems have come that endlessly arise on the face of the earth. The Mizpah movement took place through Samuel who had spent his lifetime at church and heard the voice of God ever since his childhood . Through this movement, all the people stopped worshiping idols and repented before God. Samuel later reared David as the next leader to save the generation.
2. He knew the mystery of the Ark of the Covenant
Samuel understood the importance of the Ark of the Covenant. In the Ark of the Covenant were contained the stone tablets on which the Ten Commandments of God were inscribed, Aaron’s budded staff and a jar of manna. The stone tablets symbolize the Word of the covenant that God has given to us; Aaron’s staff, the power of God; and the jar of manna, the protection of God. Samuel’s life was spent next to the Ark of the Covenant. Having received the blessing of hearing the voice of God, Samuel experienced the power of the Gospel and the guidance of God and relayed this covenant to David.
3. He prayed for a correct church
In Samuel’s heart was prayer for the church. Seeing that the Word of God was rare and the church and ministers were unable to perform their duties, Samuel prayed for a correct church. Having experienced the amazing guidance and power of God, Samuel called David and relayed this commission to him, and in the end, the answer of temple construction was brought to fulfillment through David.

Samuel, having known what was in God’s heart and mind, received the guidance and blessings of God in his entire life. What must we experience to make the answers that Samuel received ours?
