Following the resurrection
Acts 1:1~8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. (8)
The Early Church was a church that knew the Gospel, and conquered Rome despite severe Persecution. After conquering Rome, the door to all of Europe and Asia, and world evangelization opened. The Early Church believers were ridiculed by the world, but regardless of this, they believed in the power of God and followed Him. This was because they had evidence. What was the evidence that the Early Church held onto?
1. The evidence that Luke held onto
The physician Luke who recorded the Book of Acts was a realistic witness who saw the works of God. Luke had succeeded with the Gospel to the point where he could record the Bible, and as a physician, he was successful enough to write a personal letter to Theophilus, who was a proconsul. He discovered God’s plan within the Gospel and did his best in his work. In addition, he was a person who had victory in the evangelism movement that changed the age. He stayed by Paul’s side until the very end, and devoted his entire life to the proclamation of the Gospel.
2. Past, present, future
God’s Word is eternal, and will absolutely be fulfilled. The things of the world easily change and disappear, but the Word of God is eternal and unchanging. Luke and the Early Church believers lived according to the standard of the Word of God, not by the world’s standards. This was because they knew that the eternal answers of the past, present, and future are within the Gospel. Those who meditate upon the Word do not worry about the future. They only look to the plan that God has given and do their best today. Christ is the solution among all solutions, and the kingdom of God is the answer of all answers.
3. My evidence
Wherever Luke went, sick patients were healed by the Word. He experienced the power of God that surpassed mere medical ability. When Luke concentrated on the Word, those with spiritual problems were healed and the door to evangelism was opened as soon as he went into the missions field. When I focus on the Word in the place I am situated now, I, too, can receive the works of healing and the door of evangelism opening, just as Luke experienced.

God sends those who will receive the Gospel and opens the door of evangelism to those who have realized the Gospel. How can we experience the power of the Word that Luke experienced? Pray to discover God’s plan for you.
