Mystery of the Passover
Exodus 12:1~10 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this
month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household. (3)
The Israelites were set free from Egypt not by force of arms, nor with stratagem or money. It is because they believed God’s covenant and applied the blood of the lamb that was the sacrificial offering. From the standpoint of the world’s common sense, it was something that could not happen, but it was possible by God’s power. The Israelites realized through the Passover that the Messiah, namely Jesus Christ alone who was to come, was the true Savior. What is the mystery of the Passover that the Israelites enjoyed?
1. Mystery of deliverance
The Israelites were set free when they believed in the coming Messiah and put the blood
of the lamb upon their doorposts. Likewise, we will be completely set free from all sins,
curses, hell and the hand of Satan when we serve Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. In
addition, we become children of God and gain power through prayer. All problems that
have been binding us will be resolved and we will have nothing to fear or worry about. All
incidents and problems will turn into opportunities of the Word being fulfilled and we will see the perfect answers that God has prepared.
2. Mystery of fulfillment
Our status changed to that of children of God by believing in Jesus Christ. If our status
changes, everything changes. During the time of the Old Testament, people received
blessings even if they believed in the prophecy that Jesus Christ was to come. Jesus Christ, who died on the cross and resurrected, fulfilled the prophecy from the times of the Old Testament and has come into our heart and is in charge of our lives. Moreover, He fulfills the Word of God through us and gives us the blessing of saving the world covered by the forces of darkness with the Gospel.
3. The greatest mystery
Times change and everything changes but the mystery of Jesus Christ never changes. Jesus
Christ resolved the problem of man being separated from God in the past, resolves all
problems that we have today, and leads our future according to what God has planned.
Receiving salvation and going to heaven are not the only blessings we receive when
we believe in Jesus. God resolved all problems that began from the past, and is with us
eternally and leads us into the future through Jesus Christ.
