Power to overcome the world
Acts 1:8 But you’ll receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Children of God can only be at peace when they follow God’s methods. This does not, however, mean that we should remain ignorant of the world. God wants to raise His children as leaders to save the world filled with darkness. Many people simply remain in the things of the world, but children of God will receive strength when they look toward God’s methods. It is at this time that they will understand the world with the eyes of the Gospel, and communicate with the world. What must we know first to receive the power to overcome the world?
1. We have evidence to hold on to
Children of God are witnesses of Christ whom He has raised. Witnesses are those who bear the evidence, and relay the evidence to others. When Joseph was enslaved in Egypt, Potiphar- a complete unbeliever- saw God’s power through him. And even in a situation in which he was being chased by Saul; David gave true thanks and praise to God. Joseph was a witness who experienced God’s power first-hand. God has called His children as Joseph and David of this age.
2. We have evidence that overcomes the world
Though Joseph became a slave as a result of his brothers’ conspiracy, he was able to see God’s will and transcend the world. When we have a conclusion of only Jesus Christ before the world, we can enjoy the kingdom of God in the place we are.Acts 1:3 This is when the world starts to follow us, instead of us following after the world. Despite our own lacking, we will see the God’s power appearing through us.Acts 1:8 When people of the covenant join together to pray, they can enjoy the blessing of God at work.
3. We have positions in the world
God desires to save the world through His children. God told His children to arise and shine the light.Isaiah 60:1~2 Shining the light of Christ where there is no light is the position given to His children. Additionally, just like the confession from the Bible that “I can do everything through him who gives me strength” revealing God’s power is the role of His children. When we enjoy our God-given position as a blessing, the world is no longer a high wall to claim up.
