Josiah’s reformation

2 Kings 23:24~30 Furthermore, Josiah got rid of the mediums and spiritists, the household gods, the idols and all the other detestable things seen in Judah and Jerusalem. This he did to fulfill the requirements of the law written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had discovered in the temple of the Lord. (24)

There is something that the people blessed by God did. It was ‘religious reformation.’ The word ‘reformation’ means to restore the original state that has been lost. Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David, Josiah, Martin Luther, and other people of faith all fulfilled the work of reformation that God desired. King Josiah got rid of all of the idols the year he turned 20 and when he was 26, he repaired the temple. Likewise, the children of God must restore the lost Gospel in all the places to which they go.

1. Religious reformation
Even though we have the Gospel, at times, we shake and fall before small things. However, if you resolve to restore the kingdom of God that is lost in the field, even your hardship will serve as a platform to correctly see your vision. The spirit of God worked greatly upon Samuel and David who restored the lost Ark of the Covenant. Martin Luther, who restored the covenant in an age that was devoid of the Gospel, was not swept away by the threat of death. In this way, wherever you are, if you have the mystery of the covenant and prayer, God will surely bless you.

2. Josiah’s reformation
King Josiah was repairing the temple of God when he discovered the Word that had been lost.2 Kings 23:2 He also got rid of all idol worship and human sacrifices to the pagan gods, as well as other detestable acts that God did not desire. He also got rid of the altar to the sun god and restored the Passover that had been lost. He got rid of the mediums and spiritists and received God’s unprecedented, never-to-be-repeated answers.2 Kings 23:25

3. The baton of reformation
Josiah learned about David when he was 16 and was relayed the baton of reformation. This baton was relayed from Joseph to Moses, Samuel, and David. However, in addition to the baton of the Gospel, even the culture of Satan is being relayed. We just need to be able to see these two flows and stand among the ranks of evangelists. God will add all blessings unto the ones who testify of the Gospel in the places where the Gospel is lost. Evangelism is the reformation of God that is even now being fulfilled and will be fulfilled across the ages.
