Judges 16:23~31 Then Samson prayed to the Lord, “O Sovereign Lord, remember me. O God, please strengthen me just once more, and let me with one blow get revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes.” (28)

The judge from the passage, Samson, was a Nazirite who was wholly given to God. Nazirites only prayed, wore special clothes, abstained from corruption, and did not even cut their hair. In order to save Israel from persistent invasion by strong nations and to save the world that was covered with the forces of darkness, God desired to raise a powerful person who had the Gospel. What was the mystery and power of the Gospel that the Nazirite Samson experienced?
1. The one with the covenant
A Nazirite is a person who has the covenant. God changed the world through Nazirites who fulfilled everything inside of God’s answers. A person who has been changed fundamentally through the covenant and completely changed through the Gospel is a Nazirite of this age. Samson was filled with the Holy Spirit since he was in his mother’s womb. God revealed His power through the Nazirite Samson and showed that He can overcome any strength.
2. One who has lost hold of the covenant
However, Samson forgot the covenant of the Nazirite from God and fell for a Philistine woman named Delilah. Philistia was a strong nation near the Israelites that persecuted the Israelites the most. Eventually, Samson who fell into the scheme of the Philistines had all of his hair cut off and became a slave. Samson who lost hold of the covenant with God lost strength, and he became miserable after having both of his eyes gouged out.
3. Samson who restored the covenant of the Nazirite
The Philistines were a nation that worshiped idols. Samson was forced to work as a slave in a festival of worshiping idols. At that time, Samson repented before God and realized his covenant of the Nazirite once again. Then, God gave Samson the strength that was great enough to destroy all the Philistines. God destroyed the temples of idols through Samson and the Philistines who worshiped idols. When Samson restored the covenant, God revealed His power.

God has called you to break down the idols of this age and to testify of God’s power. Deeply meditate on the fact that you are a Nazirite who will hold onto the covenant in this age and show the evidence of God.
