An unprecedented experience
Joshua 10:12~15 There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel! (14) In the Bible, there are many unprecedented instances where people received answers such as Joseph who went from being a slave to a governor, Moses who experienced the parting of the Red Sea, and the Early Church which experienced the work of world evangelization. What is the secret to experiencing God’s unprecedented power like these people in the Bible?
1. There are two kinds of people who received God’s unprecedented answers
There are people who discovered God’s plan after nearly suffering to death. Abraham forgot God’s covenant and after living according to his thoughts, unsurprisingly he lost hold of many of the answers he should have enjoyed and suffered as a result. Moses lived for 80 years without receiving any answers and then, one day, he realized God’s plan for Egypt and discovered God’s mighty power. In contrast, Joseph who suffered hardships from a young age, had no fear and held onto God’s answers. After enjoying the prayer of being with God, he was raised to the position of governor. Likewise, David held onto the covenant of the temple and became king.
2. Joshua challenged himself to receive unprecedented answers
Joshua knew God’s plan regarding Canaan and he saw the power of God who led the Israelites out of Egypt. He held onto the message of the covenant and was not afraid of any difficult environment or problems. He believed in God’s power and confidently received God’s answer of the sun and the moon standing still. God desires to leave behind for eternity His power and the evidence of the Gospel. God still gives unprecedented answers today and we will receive them also.
3. When you begin to hold onto God’s covenant and pray, He will give you unprecedented answers
For those people searching for God’s answers, God will answer. During the Japanese occupation and the Korean War, there was persecution because of shrine worship and communism oppressed the church. However through pastors who did not bow a knee to unbelief and suffered martyrdom, the Gospel took root in Korea and the Gospel was proclaimed. Through people who accept the Gospel into their heart, God will change the country and give unprecedented answers that will change the age.
