Resolution of faith

Numbers 14:1~10 If the Lord is pleased with us, He will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them. (8~9) ♬ Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #446 I Need Thee Every Hour (#500 in previous version) Through the Sunday worship, we receive grace and begin a new week on Monday. However, we often forget the grace we received because of teacher’s lectures or boss’ frustration. Many people think that their thoughts and their surroundings are everything. However, we must first heal our minds that are scarred and then go a step further to heal our spiritual state. Our life is in the hands of God and within God’s plan. Knowing this truth, we must make resolutions of faith.

1. We must restore ourselves
 It is not that we accidentally heard the Gospel and out of sheer luck became children of God. In each and every age God selected the few and called them as disciples. We are the representatives of the Gospel as well as spiritual disciples who represent our family, region and nation. God called His children with the blood covenantExodus 3:18 and sent them out to the field. We must restore the blessing of children of God and look to the plan and guidance of God. It is at this time that we experience God’s power and receive true healing.

2. Resolution of faith will bring about eternal answers
The Israelites who received God’s command to go to the land of Canaan sent out spies to Canaan. Most of the spies, however, spoke words of unbelief that they were unable to enter the land of Canaan. The Israelites were discouraged and tried to kill Moses and return to Egypt, thinking nothing of God’s power. At that moment, Joshua and Caleb made a resolution of faith and spoke words of faith, and through their resolution the age in which they were living changed and all the Israelites were able to revive.

3. The Israelites conquered Canaan with Moses’ resolution
 Seeing the unbelief of the Israelites and resolution of faith of Joshua, Moses made a resolution with faith. It seemed impossible from the eyes of the world, and yet Moses proceeded to Canaan with the faith of believing in the power and plan of God. The faith of Moses, Joshua and Caleb determined the fate of one nation. The faith, confession and resolution of God’s children will determine their family and family line; the faith of believers will determine the fate of their church; the faith of leaders will determine the fate of the future generation and their age.
 
Forum Topic When we make a resolution with the small faith that we have, God will bless us with the eternal answers and will enable this faith to be relayed to the future generation. Let us pray for and ponder upon what kind of resolution of faith we will make.
