The commission of the evangelist
Acts 1:4 On one occasion, while He was eating with them, He gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.” ♬ Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #370 The Trusting Heart to Jesus Clings (#455 in previous version) Though we are children of God, we may not believe the Word of God. In the Word of God, however, is hidden infinite power that we have yet to experience. Blinded shortly after birth, Fanny Crosby grew up as she heard the Word of God from her mother and grandmother. She wrote over 10,000 hymns until her death at the age of 95 and was nominated as an individual who was respected more than the U.S. President. The hymns that Crosby wrote led many people to God and moved their hearts spiritually. How must we seek and enjoy God’s blessings just as Crosby did?
1. Blessing of prayer
We just need to put the purpose of our life in the Gospel. We give thanks to Jesus Christ who saved us who were bound by original sin and had no choice but to reap destruction, and in everything we do we share the Gospel in our field. The moment we resolve to stake our lives for the Gospel, the spiritual problems of our family line will be broken down and we will experience prayer naturally taking place. When we enjoy prayer and uncover the blessings that stem from prayer, God will be at work with His power.
2. Blessing of finances
In order to share the Gospel, we need financial power to support our lifestyle. Financial blessing is one of the important blessings that we can receive from God as we live our lives. When we strive for God’s desire of world evangelization in our work and our studies, God will be with us and add to us financial blessings. If we place the financial priority on God, God will open the heavens, the storehouse of His bountyDeuteronomy 28:12, and add to us the blessing of the Gospel finances that will not crumble.
3. Blessing of future generations
We must cherish the commission of evangelism so that our children and future generations receive blessings. From then on, God will pour His blessings on our children and future generations who will arise in the future. When we embrace the commission of evangelism, not only will future generations receive blessings but the works of churches reviving will take place. In addition, when prayer and meditation of the Word of God seep into our lives, the culture of darkness will lose its power. The moment we overcome our unbelief with prayer and meditation of the Word of God, we can experience spiritual blessings and the power of God.
