Moreover, evangelism is a method of healing our deep-seated problems and thoughts. Evangelism is a battle between two kingdoms. It is a battle between the world filled with the evil spirits and the kingdom of God filled with the Holy Spirit. Because we are the people of the kingdom of heaven and Jesus Christ has destroyed the authority of Satan, we are already victors in this spiritual battle. If so, then how must we understand and enjoy evangelism as victors of the spiritual battle?
1. The world, filled with the evil spirits, is suffering
The world at present is perishing under the reign of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, namely Satan. Many people study, get married and make money in search of happiness but they become more miserable. Even though they achieve success and are the envy of many people, they will suffer from their spiritual problems and eventually fail. It is because they are unaware of the spiritual truth and of Jesus Christ. Sharing Jesus Christ with those who are suffering is the spiritual battle of breaking down the forces of darkness that has taken hold of the world as well as the way to enjoy victory.
2. We will enjoy the kingdom of God when we are filled with the Holy Spirit
When children of God are filled with the Holy Spirit, the kingdom of God comes upon them wherever they go. Jesus said that He would give us power and make us witnesses to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8 If we understand the meaning of salvation and restore thanksgiving, we will uncover the definite reason to evangelize. If we enjoy Immanuel and experience the kingdom of God, we will have no choice but to evangelize. When we save the world with the Gospel, all of our work and commission will be for evangelism.
3. We will look to God’s plan
We as humans keep falling into despair when we see people and the problems of our circumstances. Joseph became a slave because of his brothers’ plot, but he cherished the commission of evangelism regardless of his circumstances. David was persecuted after defeating Goliath, but he, too, looked to God’s will. Elisha and the believers of the Early Church, too, looked for and meditated on God’s Word and evangelized despite their apparent tribulations. Evangelism is a blessing of God’s plans coming to fulfillment.
