Power of prayer that will work in our lives

Acts 1:3 After His suffering, He showed Himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that He was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. ♬ Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #384 All the Way My Savior Leads Me (#434 in previous version) The secular culture that we frequently come in contact with has many things that are good for having fun. However, they only seem dazzling on the outside and no place is a safe haven for us. When we are overcome with or feel burdened by our present reality, we hopelessly fall into various mass media and the secular culture that we are accustomed to. The forces of darkness are taking control over the entire world and the minds of people through various types of secular culture. We as children of God need the power of prayer in order to win over and conquer the world. What must we pray for?

1. Begin the prayer of healing as you enjoy the Gospel
“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”Matthew 16:16 This confession is truly remarkable. Many people, however, confess Christ and yet are unable to start praying the prayer of enjoying the Gospel in their actual lives. We will gain tremendous spiritual power if we can grab hold of the covenant of enjoying the Gospel and enjoy the Gospel through prayer. Except through prayer alone, there is no other way that will heal our thinking or desolate minds that have been hardened by the world. The Gospel is the unique solution to mankind’s unresolved problems, the light to overcome darkness, and the way to escape from our fate and destiny.

2. Pray so that the works of God may continue in our lives It is not because of our circumstances that the works of God do not reign over our lives. Moses grew up in a palace without any lacking but became a runaway, which was completely unexpected and not part of his plan. Rather, the time when he had nothing became an opportunity for him to look to God’s plan. God’s works do not begin when we are living our lives in perfect condition. When we break free from our thinking or frame of mind and think from God’s point of view, the works of God will begin in our lives.

3. Begin the prayer of rising above the culture of the world
 In each age when people lost hold of the Gospel, God used His people and the Gospel movement to break down the darkness. Martin Luther, John Calvin, D.L. Moody, John Wesley, George Whitfield became the spiritual summit of their times and spread the Gospel. If we are not transformed by the Gospel, we will become slaves, captives and colonies of the world. The Word of God has power. If the Word of God permeates into our life, our incorrect thoughts will change. Because God will give the evidence of the Gospel to those who follow and rely on the Word of God, we must begin the prayer of rising above and transforming the culture of the world.
