True happiness
Deuteronomy 10:13 And to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? ♬ Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #370 The Trusting Heart to Jesus Clings (#455 in previous version) Everybody needs the time to ask themselves, “Am I happy?” Generally, people are unable to boldly answer that they are truly happy. In the face of problems, we easily fall as our hearts become filled with nervousness and anxiety. We also fall into depression and have thoughts of failure due to our past nature and habits that we are oblivious of. Happiness then becomes something that is so far from us. God has prepared happiness as a gift for His children, yet we are unable to enjoy this happiness because we lose hold of necessary priorities pertaining to true happiness. Then, how can we enjoy true happiness?
1. Enjoy happiness through Jesus Christ
Children of God can enjoy happiness through Jesus Christ. The problems of misery and curses that surface because of the separation from God can only be solved through Jesus Christ. God sent Jesus Christ into this world so that He could shed His blood on the cross and resurrect for the sake of providing believers with the happiness of salvation, and dwells within us even today by His Holy Spirit. When I enjoy Jesus Christ who is with me and guides me, true happiness will be discovered.
2. Enjoy happiness through prayer
God has opened the way for salvation through Jesus Christ, and has given His children the authority to pray. Hidden within every problem lies God’s answers. Through every meeting and work, God fulfills His purpose and will. When we are weak, God gives us His strength, opens our eyes to see His purpose, and allows certain situations to take place for the sake of those who need to hear the Word of God. People of prayer are able to catch on to God’s purpose; thus, they receive answers easily. As a result, they are then able to live a life of true happiness.
3. Happiness can be enjoyed 24 hours a day
24 hours a day, God continuously provides His children with answers. If our interests are aligned with God’s, then our lives have no choice but to thrive in happiness. You are able to confess that not I, but God is the master of my life. To be filled with the Holy Spirit means that God is the Lord of your soul, heart, and life. Every time we pray, God gives us the power to overcome the world and wisdom in difficult circumstances. We can be used as witnesses of God that save others.
Forum Topic True happiness comes from meeting and having fellowship with God. Examine your status and authority as a child of God. Meditating upon this blessing itself is prayer, and when you pray, true happiness can be enjoyed.
