Leave your country, your people and your father’s household
Genesis 12:1~10 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.” (1~2) Even if the children of God pray just a little bit, they can still receive answers, and when they simply ponder on the Word of God, His works begin to take place. However, we are unable to receive answers that we should rightfully enjoy. What must I do to taste the answers of God? Discard everything that prevents you from enjoying God’s answers and hold on to His promise. God has commanded you to leave your country, your people, and your father’s household. What does this exactly mean?
1. Do not dwell upon your past
When God commands you to leave, it signifies that you should not dwell upon your past. The Holy Spirit is always with us from the throne of heaven. In order to receive the sole guidance of God, you must overcome your unbelief and environment, and then, you will be able to see God’s Word in the very depth of your soul. To give Abraham this blessing, God commanded him to leave the land that fostered a culture in which destruction was inevitable. When you dispose of your past and unbelief, you can experience the works of God.
2. You must receive the new answers God has prepared
God desired to bless Abraham and provide him with great answers. Therefore, God sent Abraham to a new land. Similar to how God led Abraham into a land in which he created a great nation, when we receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit we can receive accurate answers. As Abraham’s descendants moved according to what the Lord had commanded, all nations were blessed. May both my descendants and I receive the answer of becoming a source of blessings.
3. You must have the true start
Resolve to pray before the answers that God will give to you. When Daniel resolved not to bow down to idols, God sent His heavenly angels to protect him. When Esther resolved to die before the Lord, God worked in every aspect of her life. When members of the Early Church resolved to commit their lives for the Gospel movement, God allowed them to proclaim the Word to the entire world. We must stand before God in this manner and seek the answer regarding our problems through sincere prayer. This is the true start.
