Age of the Nephilim
Genesis6:1~8 SotheLordsaid,“IwillwipeformthefaceoftheearththehumanraceI have created- and with them the animals, the birds, and the creatures that move along the ground- for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. (7~8) ♬ Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #430 ’Tis so Sweet to Walk With Jesus (#456 in previous version) Satan is even now active and making the world a chaotic place in order to prevent people from meeting God. And even for those who have met God, Satan continues to utilize all sorts of methods to prevent them from enjoying spiritual blessings. He inserts himself in individual lives to make them spiritually powerless, and attacks families, poking at the rawest scars to make the pain unbearable. He takes control of culture, politics, economy, and society to indoctrinate the world into thinking material possessions are the most important. He deceives us into thinking we can live without God. It is the same as it was in the age of the Nephilim. As we live our lives in the exact same age as that of the Nephilim, how can we keep ourselves from falling into Satan’s traps and have victory?
1. We must grab on to the Gospel
It is an age where Satan attacks the individual with devious plans and drives the whole world into chaos. At this time, children of God must hold firmly on to the Gospel given by God. Holding on to the Gospel signifies holding on to Jesus Christ, who broke the forces of Satan, ended all curses and sin, and became the way for us to meet with God. It refers to ending the forces of darkness with the name of Jesus Christ, and enjoying God through prayer. When a person who has realized the Gospel enjoys the mystery of prayer, Satan will lose all power and flee.
2. He has called us as evangelists who will prevent the age of disasters
As God called Noah to prevent the age of the Nephilim, He has called us in this age to prevent the age of disasters. When all others were tied down by sin and walking the path of destruction, God saved the entire world through one person: Noah. Noah was a man who received grace from God. When God called Noah, He told him to build an ark first and foremost for himself. God called me first and foremost, and desires to save me before my parents, relatives and all others.
3. We must prepare for the future
God did not destroy the world that was filled with sin. We must remember that He first called Noah to build the ark and prepare for the future. The world is growing more wicked and evil. But if we enter into the ark, we will live. The same God who called Noah is calling out to us right now. He desires to save the posterity and this very age through us. We must heed His call.
