In order to receive true blessings
Revelation 1:1~3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. (3) ♬ Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #80 There is No Name so Sweet (#101 in previous version) As science advances and the age becomes increasingly convenient, people grow more and more unhappy and their greed becomes insatiable. We struggle to find methods to obtain better, more convenient methods to live. With the endless desire to attain greatness, people correlate happiness with this and are thus discouraged and face suffering. True blessings can be discovered only within God. What must I know to receive true blessings?
1. The answer Apostle John received
The Jews persecuted those who believed in Jesus, but the more they did the more Apostle John followed the words of Jesus. After witnessing the resurrection of Jesus Christ, John received the great mystery of the future and answers upon the Mount of Olives. Although one may tremble before death, John put down his disbelief before the Lord and resolved in great faith. He received the historic answer to save the age. When people encounter difficulties and problems, they fall into misconceptions. Apostle John made resolutions of faith during these times and received great answers.
2. The answers you receive when you come out from within your fetters
The members of the Pergamum Church were tremendously persecuted and yet, maintained their walk of faith in the midst of difficulties. These persecutions scared several of these believers. The pastor spoke before the trembling church congregation saying, “The Lord God is with us wielding His double-edged sword” ensuring that God will protect them so there is no need to fear. If you believe God is with you, do not fall into fear but be victorious. Sometimes, people make their own fetters and fall into conflict or discouragement. Believe in the power of God and free yourself from your fetters. Then you will receive all the prepared blessings.
3. The answer you see when you open your spiritual eyes
Due to the persecutions of Rome, Apostle John was sent to the island of Patmos, deemed an island of death. Patmos is where people fear to go if they are exiled. As you live your life, problems will continue to arise and greater difficulties will be encountered. When you are faced with problems, abandon your fear and open your spiritual eyes to see the plan of God. With your spiritual eyes open, like Apostle John, do not fall into misconception before problems but discover the hidden answers of God.
