Isaac who had the nature of the Gospel
Genesis 22:13~20 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took te ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. The children of God must receive God’s blessings and possess the leisure to be considerate of others. As we do so, we must relay the Gospel. If we receive one hundred-fold the blessing of God like Isaac, we can fully enjoy this blessing and relay it to our neighbors and posterity.Genesis 26:12 How can we receive this blessing?
1. Nature of the Gospel
Isaac could not forget his journey with his father, Abraham, to Mt. Moriah, or the incident where his father tried to sacrifice him to God. He could not forget that, on the verge of death, God had prepared a ram caught in the thickets to be sacrificed in his stead. Through this powerful experience when he was young, the Gospel was embedded in Isaac’s heart, and Isaac had no choice but to enjoy the Gospel for the rest of his life because of it. When the Gospel becomes embedded in our hearts and becomes our nature just like for Isaac, we can correctly enjoy the answers that God has prepared.
2. The Gospel and work
We need to have the eyes to see the Gospel, the work that I am doing, and evangelism as one continuum. If the Gospel is a separate entity from our work, answers will grow farther away from us. Those who have the nature of the Gospel can enjoy the Gospel while working or studying. Those who resolve to relay the Gospel through their work or academics are evangelists. If we work faithfully in our workplace or schools as we enjoy the Gospel, God will grant us strength and grace, and He will also open the door to many opportunities and meetings so that we can evangelize. At that time, we can naturally and comfortably share the Gospel.
3. Answer of one hundred-fold
Isaac enjoyed the Gospel and looked to God on a regular basis and when he planted a year’s worth of crops, he harvested 100 years’ worth of fruits. He received so many answers that others looked to him and envied him, and he also gained the wellspring, which was most important in Israel at that time. Just as God gave these blessings to Isaac, if God grants us one hundred-fold answers in our lives, what would happen? The things that we cannot do by our own strength will arise. Those who have the Gospel will become important figures in society and exert influence upon the culture. We must look to this answer and enjoy the Gospel even more deeply in our field today.
