Person who will inherit a blessing
1 Peter 3:8~12 Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, look after one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing (8~9) ♬ Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #478 This is My Father’s World (#78 in previous version) Those who have been called by God must discover hidden blessings through the Word. And in the field, we need to discover a different blessing and power. The Word says God will deploy His heavenly armies ahead of us when we know the Word properly, enjoy the mystery of prayer, and think about His covenant. Those who will inherit blessings can always enjoy the blessings God has prepared in any time and place. What will those who enjoy these blessings come to realize?
1. We will begin to see God’s hidden blessings
We are not immortal. We must leave this earth when we have lived the set amount of years God has determined for us. God wants His children to enjoy the blessing He has hidden in the field during this one lifetime. The moment we listen to His Word to discover these blessings and remember the covenant as we pray, He will mobilize His armies. Each time we worship while enjoying this truth, the doors to the throne of heaven will open, and God’s hidden blessings will appear in our lives.
2. We will see the things He has promised today
Jesus Christ promised us, “Only when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will receive power and be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all Judea and to the ends of the earth.” Those who knew this blessing gathered in Mark’s upper room to pray, and consequently, the doors of evangelism were opened and 3,000 disciples arose. Just like the participants of Mark’s upper room, if we remember what He has promised us within Father God and wait, we will see the doors leading to God-given answers.
3. What we have received from God is living hope
At times, the Word of God may lack the wave of emotions or melodic chords that stir the sentiment like worldly music. But the Word of God is not meant to inspire emotion momentarily before fading away. Rather, God has given us the Word to relay light. He has given us authority to save other lives. What we have received from God is not the pleasures of the world, but living hope. If we hold on to this hope, we will see the hope of the future as well.
