However, never once was Joseph discouraged by the consequences. The way Joseph was able to overcome his numerous hardships was through the mystery of prayer and by remaining in the Lord 24 hours every day. Joseph held on to the dreams God had given to him as prayer topics. His dream of the ten sheaves of grain bowing down to him signified the blessing of evangelism and the other dream of the sun, moon, and stars bowing before him signified world missions. Then, what kind of prayer did Joseph hold on to?
1. The world is in suffering
Humans are spiritual beings; thus, without meeting God, we are unable to obtain victory despite our efforts. Man separated from God must face endless suffering, mental disease, and physical illnesses. Egypt, a superpower nation at one point in time, utterly collapsed contrary to the beliefs of many. It may seem possible to live and succeed in the world without God. However, the world is consumed with suffering from separation from God. Joseph perceived the world with spiritual eyes and lived his life in prayer.
2. To taste genuine answers
Genuine answers do not concern wealth or prestige. The true answer is meeting God. How can we meet God? Only Jesus Christ is the way to meet God. When we meet God, all of man’s problems are solved. Problems arose in our lives because we have been separated from God. Without God, spiritual problems cannot be resolved. Jesus Christ is the only unique solution. When we hold on to this truth and enter inside 24-hour prayer, God will carry out His works within our lives. May you garner all strength through prayer.
3. Enjoying true blessings
Joseph faced family problems, was sold as a slave, and was imprisoned by false accusations. However, in every situation, Joseph held on to the fact that God was with him and enjoyed this blessing through prayer in all circumstances. Within prayer, Joseph was able to discover all the blessings to his problems. The problems he faced were minuscule in Joseph’s eyes. As a slave Joseph discovered God’s plan, and in prison he enjoyed God’s answers. You must experience problems not being an issue through prayer.
