My background
Colossians 2:1~10 My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (2~3) Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #36 All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name Every day, we are consumed with thought as we rush forward in a preoccupied manner. There are those who spend their uneventful day in peace, while others experience various mishaps and accidents throughout a chaotic day. People live their day according to the particularities of their personal situation and thus, lose hold of the Gospel and trudge the path of destruction as depicted in the Bible. What background do I possess and how must I live my life?
1. Acquire eyes to see the future
In Matthew chapters 24 and 25, Jesus speaks about the events that will arise during the last days. Famine, earthquakes, and wars will arise and the only way for the end to come is when the Gospel is proclaimed in all nations. Also, the age will approach in which mankind forsakes the love of God and is consumed by their own selves. When this time of darkness arises, we must hold on to the answers. Despite these events, we must hold onto the answer of Jesus Christ.
2. All answers are in Christ
All those who have become separated from God are held captive by the forces of darkness. Despite the efforts, good deeds, and success achieved by man, one cannot escape the authority of Satan. Jesus Christ is the only way to bind the powers of the devil. Not anyone can simply discover the hidden mystery of Christ, for it is by God’s grace alone. In addition, everything rests within Christ. We must recognize the great blessings within Christ and profess this truth to those who are oblivious to this answer.
3. I must enjoy my background
Christ is not a mere word. It is a name that possesses all authority in heaven and on earth, a name that subdues all living things. When you accept Jesus Christ and become a child of God, the forces of darkness are broken and you will receive the blessing of the help of the armies of angels. However, the number of people who believe in this truth is relatively small. If this spiritual blessing is instilled within you, these blessings will guide you upon the path of life. Jesus Christ is my background.
