World Remnant Conference
Lecture 3 / 2012. 8. 3 7(Fri) Those who love God Deuteronomy 6:4~9 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. (4~5) Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #397 In Heavenly Love Abiding (#454 in previous version) Jesus told us to take the Gospel and go to the ends of the earth. Remote places that we cannot reach, people who have never heard the Gospel or areas that are under darkness and sufferings can also be the ends of the earth. If we know God’s will and have the heart of loving souls, then we will come to know the reason why we must relay the Gospel to those who are suffering. Particularly, what must we relay to God’s people who are prepared for the next generation in the field and will receive the Gospel?
1. Love the Lord your God (Deuteronomy 6:4~9)
Many people are wandering in search of ways to live well. In order to guard what is precious to them, they lust after what belongs to others and gratify the desires of the sinful nature without hesitation even if they are wrong. However, God tells us to listen to the voice of the Lord and love the Lord with all our hearts in any circumstances. We will come to see which way is the way to live well only when our priority is set not on the words of people but on the Word of God.
2. See what God has prepared (2 King 6:1~7)
As we live in this world, it is not so easy to serve the Lord Jesus Christ alone. Even in this world filled with hardships and pain, however, there are evangelists who never waver but have victory with the Gospel. In order to save the world, God has hidden and is equipping evangelists all over the place. They are the ones who know the necessity of Christ in the world. If we know the necessity of Jesus Christ, it becomes rather easier for us to serve Christ.
3. Look out to Macedonia (Acts 16:6~10)
When sad things happen to us or all roads seem to be closed before our eyes, we must not be deceived by our circumstances but receive the guidance of God. Even if things that appear tempting or overwhelming happen to us, all we need to do is not be deceived. God tells His children to wait as we remember the covenant and enjoy the kingdom of God when we are standing before difficulties and closed roads. The time when we want to give up everything is the time to look to the greater plan of God, and when we are feeling resentful of others, it is the time to restore God’s grace. When the door of evangelism was closed to Paul, God had prepared the greatest answer of Macedonia.
- Are you in a hopeless situation? Or is your day filled with joy? Make today the greatest day of asking for God’s answers and restoring God’s grace. Core Training message / 2012. 8. 4
