Strength of oneness
Exodus 3:16~20 The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders are to go to the king of Egypt and say to him, “The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three-day journey into the desert to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God.” (18) Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal # 540 I am Thine, O Lord, I Have Heard Thy Voice (#219 in previous version) As individualism becomes the norm, many people find it difficult to work together with others. However, many religious organizations and social movements are joining forces in order to move the culture as well as the world. When people of faith in the Gospel come together in one heart and pray together, change arises, and miracles happen. With what kind of heart must we who have the Gospel come together as one? What kind of answers come to us when we enjoy the blessing of oneness in the Gospel?
1. We must overcome the forces of darkness that have conquered over the world
The world is achieving oneness through the culture of darkness. Overcoming the oneness of Satan is the commission of all of us who possess the mystery of Jesus Christ. Satan attacks people who do not know the Gospel through culture, economy, different organizations, and movements. Though everything looks beneficial from the standpoint of the world, from the spiritual perspective, we are able to recognize that this actually hinders the work of evangelism and drives people to become desolate. We must be aware of this fact and receive the answer of oneness in order to relay the Gospel after binding the forces of darkness.
2. We must enjoy the Gospel oneness
If we gather with any other purpose other than the Gospel, we cannot save the world. When we enjoy oneness centered on the Gospel and the Word of God, God will lead us according to His plan. When we share the Gospel with those around us, recount the Word with them and pray, God will grant us the spiritual strength to break the forces of darkness in the field and the power to save lives. Persecution and hardships are an opportunity to bring together those who have been scattered. (Acts 12:1~25) At this time, we will receive the true answer of changing the age and history.
3. The church must come together as one
These days, people relentlessly criticize the church. Churches that have no concern for the Gospel and evangelism, and are only swayed by money and authority cannot influence the world and end up shaking instead. The church must come together in oneness only with the Gospel. When believers come together as one in the covenant, and pastors and believers become connected in the Word, God will grant the same blessings that He gave to the Early Church and Antioch Church. For the church that has oneness in the Gospel, even hardships and persecution are answers and channels for blessings.
