One person who holds onto the covenant
Haggai 2: 1~9 “This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.” This is what the Lord Almighty says: “In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,” says the Lord Almighty. (5~7) Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #546 Standing on the Promises (#399 in previous version) Among the churches around the world and in Korea there are many non-self-sustaining churches and churches that are closing their doors. In the fields, the demonic culture is on the rise and the age has come to a state where those who preach about Jesus Christ are looked upon as those who are close-minded. Amidst this cultural flood, our next generation is wandering without the Gospel. In this type of age what must we hold onto?
1. One person who holds onto the covenant
In every age where the Gospel was lost, God raised up one person with the Gospel to save that age. Simply knowing the Gospel on an intellectual level or as a good story is not enough. Looking out into this age that is filled with spiritual problems, you must come to the conclusion that there is no other solution other than only Jesus Christ. If this covenant is embedded in our hearts like a well-placed nail then God will change the age.
2. A mature person
If the covenant is embedded in our hearts like a well-placed nail, we can enjoy the Gospel even in the midst of all problems. Joseph was enslaved and unfairly imprisoned, but he knew that this was all part of God’s plan to save lives. A mature person is someone who prays to find God’s good plan within problems and events. Churches that have closed their doors and the next generation swept over by the culture can be saved if one mature person who has the Gospel arises.
3. A person with commission
In this world, you need to think with common sense. However, when a person with the commission to save the age prays, God will carry out His works that transcends all common knowledge. If we pray for churches to be raised in regions that have been lost to the demonic culture, God will work a miracle and change that region’s culture into the culture of light. If we pray for the Gospel movement to arise during this age where material wealth and physical possessions are valued more than the Gospel, God will raise up works to save this age.
- If the Word of God is placed in my soul like a well-placed nail then all of God’s glory will hang upon it. May today be a day where you have the courage to challenge forth in prayer as the main figure to save this age. Washington Church Lay Leader Seminar / 2012. 6.13
