One thing to save the world
Acts 27:24 And said, “Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.” Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #411 There’s a Peace in my Heart (#473 in previous version) As you live your life, you will face situations that you don’t like and meet people that you cannot understand. You may be burdened by the state of you family and the words of your parents, or meet friends and partners that lack honesty. You will also see people who fail, no matter how hard they try. There is one thing you must know in order to change the direction of your life and your purpose entirely. What is this one thing that can save you and the world?
1. You must know one thing
Your school or workplace does not teach you how to solve spiritual problems. Regardless of meeting great friends and companions, the loneliness in your heart remains the same. As you are in a rush to solve your problems and attempt to pray, because these problems aren’t being solved according to your expectations you may be discouraged and question God. The solution to your problems cannot be seen. When this occurs, entrust all your cares to God and listen to the voice of God.
2. You must think about one thing in the midst of problems and hardships
Paul who set sail on a boat to evangelize faced the crisis of a storm. Others on board attempted to avoid the storm and utilized their own methods. However, Paul did not worry about the sinking boat; instead, he walked to the bottom of the boat and engaged in prayer. At that moment, God called Paul and said, “Paul, do not fear, you must stand trial before Caesar!”
3. You must know one thing for victory
There are limits to our nature, conditions, and ability. Therefore, you must make time to be with God. This is prayer. Through prayer, God reveals His plan to you. You must have genuine time to stand before God in order to communicate with Him. When our faith deflates, our unbelief becomes greater as trials and hardships surface. We must align our lives with God.
- Despite knowing that it is not God’s plan, unbelief is so sweet. Do not lose hold of the heart of being a child of God as you keep in mind the direction that you must align your life to as well as the priority in life. Washington Conference Lecture 2 / 2012. 6. 13
