With what kind of faith can we have victory?
Romans 1:17 For in the Gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #531 Jesus is Tenderly Calling Thee Home (#321 in previous version) Even if we put on a nice appearance, we cannot behave correctly if our inner beings are in conflict. Believing in one’s own belief and not trusting God is not a correct attitude that believers of Christ should have. Faith pleases God and the Holy Spirit has the power to work. What must we, as children of God who have the Gospel, do so that we can trust and depend on the Word of God with a humble attitude and heart?
1. We must understand the works of faith that arise when we believe in God.
Jesus gave answers according to the faith that people had. Laying His hand on the man with leprosy, Jesus said, “I am willing. Be clean!” The man with leprosy uttered the words of faith, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” It was at this time that his hidden problems, both spiritual and physical, were healed through faith. Even though we are lacking, all problems will be resolved when we know the works of faith of trusting and depending on God.
2. We must know the attitude of faith that God desires
Children of God must know the will of God and live the life of receiving the guidance of the Holy Spirit through worship service. Giving worship with a sincere heart and asking for heaven’s will before God is the commendable attitude of children of God. When we continue with prayer through worship, we will have the attitude and heart of thanksgiving. We must never forget that when we lose hold of the Word, Satan uses all kinds of schemes to make us stumble.
3. There are some facts that children of God must believe
Children of God have the tremendous background of heaven as well as the spiritual background of the power to save the earth. We must be able to enjoy the status and authority of children of God not just on Sundays but every day. We will restore the authority of children of God when we bind the forces of Satan who hinder us and make our lives miserable and pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Children of God must never lose hold of the time to experience the works of the Holy Spirit and to receive grace.
