Enjoy the golden fishing grounds of your life
Matthew 16:16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #301 God’s Great Grace it is has Brought Us (#460 in previous version) As we live our lives, there may be misunderstandings due to differences in thoughts of others and we may feel burdened by the conflicts that arise from interpersonal relationships. However, we must see the fertile fishing grounds that God has prepared before we grow weary before many problems in our lives. Those who confess Jesus Christ in their lives are children of God. Then how must children of God who possess the Gospel rise above conflicts and problems and enjoy the golden fishing grounds of their life?
1. We must enjoy the golden fishing grounds of answers
We must enjoy the answers that God gives to us in our lives. Knowing the answers that he was to receive in the future, Joseph never complained or held grudges. Even with the persecutions by his brothers, Joseph never hated them; even at the house of Potiphar where he was sold into slavery, Joseph served and was faithful to his master. Even in prison, he did not despair but looked after the prison guard and fellow inmates. If we do not enjoy the answers that God gives to us, we can never be thankful, and if we cannot restore thanksgiving, we cannot enjoy the golden fishing grounds of our lives.
2. The place where we face failure is the golden fishing grounds
There are fields that seem like places of failure from the perspective of the world. If we see them from the spiritual perspective, however, the places of failure are the golden fishing grounds where the Gospel must be preached. God’s plan will be fulfilled in each school, workplace, and region where the believers of the church are situated. When we enjoy the answers that are given to each individual in the field, the Gospel will be preached in the place where we faced failure and everything is laid waste. The place where we are standing is our golden fishing ground where the Word of God comes to fulfillment.
3. We must discover the golden fishing grounds of evangelism
When we enjoy the answers that God gives to us in our lives and when we save with the Gospel the fields that seem to have failed, God will enable us to discover the golden fishing grounds of evangelism. When we hold onto God’s Word and live the life of the evangelist in the golden fishing grounds of evangelism, disciples that will save their regions and fields will be raised. In addition, when those who pray, establish businesses with the Gospel, and have the Gospel in the Word of God become united, God will grant the power to change the world and culture.
