Prayer that pleases God
John 14:14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #85 Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee (#85 in previous version) God promised to answer whenever a child of God prayed (John 14:14). However, many people do not know how to pray, and only seek the blessings that are visible right in front of their eyes. That is why they feel as though answers elude them, and unbelief and dissatisfaction take root in their hearts. Material answers will naturally arrive when prayer itself has been restored. When we pray while seeing God’s time schedule, God will fill everything with abundance. What is prayer that pleases God?
1. Prayer is the beginning of realizing our self-identity
Children of God have received the blessing of being able to pray. They have also been gifted with the spiritual eyes with which to see the age and reality with the perspective of the Gospel. First and foremost, they must confirm their spiritual self-identity, and discover the plan God has toward the age. What kind of plan does God have for me? What is the commission and desire God has given to me? When we discover our spiritual identity and commission, we will discover purpose and prayer topics.
2. We need to pray for the church
Countless believers pray for their own comfort and well-being, but do not really p
ray for the church. Believers need to understand that there is a purpose for God sending us to church, and that the church has the commission to save lives in the regional field and pray for it. When we take into heart the pastors whom God has anointed and pray for them and the church, the church’s congregation will be revived spiritually, and they will receive the answers of being raised as evangelists in their respective fields.
3. We must taste powerful prayer
When we see the spiritual truth and pray, we will receive the power of the filling of the Holy Spirit. Prayer is the most accurate method of enjoying the blessings of the throne and restoring our strength. When we hold onto the covenant and restore prayer, God will give us the spiritual strength to overcome problems and the world, and raise us as witnesses. When we taste prayer, prayer will no longer be a difficult obstacle, but rather something joyful in our lives that will absolutely take place.
