Prayer that Jesus taught
Matthew 6:9~10 “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Prayers that become answered are privileges given to the children of God. Although God is at work, the forces of darkness are bound, and angels fulfill God’s will when we pray, prayer seems difficult in our lives. How can we apply Jesus’ prayer in our lives?
1. Pray like thisMatthew 6:9~13
Jesus Himself taught His disciples about prayer. We need to hold onto the same prayer today. Prayer is something we give to God in heaven. Prayer is done with the holy name. We must believe in God who is living even now, moving all creation, and is omnipresent, and pray. Prayer is finding God’s will. We must believe that it will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Prayer is the coming of God’s kingdom. We must pray for God’s kingdom to come upon my life so that the forces of darkness will be weakened. We need not pray for God to take away our temptations but to not fall into temptations. Just as God has forgiven us, we need to pray so that we may forgive others. Prayer is confessing that God’s kingdom, power, and glory belong to Him. When you seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness, He adds all things unto us.
2. Jesus who set an example of prayerMark 1:35
Jesus also awoke early in the morning to pray. If you wake up early in the morning, pray, meditate on the Word, and continue to live a balanced lifestyle, then you will have a taste of amazing change and answers in your life’s field. You gain wisdom to live your life when you meditate on the Word, the kingdom of God is established when you pray, and you can restore balance in your lifestyle and maintain your health through exercise. Your day and your entire life will move inside of prayer. Even if you face various situations and incidents, you will enjoy the peace that people of the world cannot comprehend. When you are alone, at the happy moment of looking to God and praying in Jesus Christ’s name, God fulfills His work.
-If your life is in a state of powerlessness, ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit. There is no limit to God’s power, and God can answer His children at any moment. Seek answers and pray until He gives answers. New Believer, Field Ministry Worker Retreat / 2012. 5. 22
