Mystery given to the ones who remain
Obadiah 1:11~21 This company of Israelite exiles who are in Canaan will possess the land as far as Zarephath; the exiles from Jerusalem who are in Sepharad will possess the towns of the Negev. Deliverers will go up on Mount Zion to govern the mountains of Esau. And the kingdom will be the Lord’s. (20~21) Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #182 Joys are Flowing Like a River (#169 in previous version) God has called His children who have been saved as the "ones who remain" for this age. He has given us the commission to relay the baton of the Gospel to our next generation and the blessing to spread the Gospel to the entire world. However, there are many times when we lose hold of the Word and wander due to the worldly trials and problems we see with our eyes. People in the Bible also went through many hardships and were even shaken in the process. What blessings must we enjoy as the "ones who remain" who will survive in the world and amidst the culture that has been completely conquered by the forces of darkness?
1. Know the method of God
The world speaks of many methods and philosophies, but what is most important is to live by God’s method. God said that the ones who remain belong to Him, and that they will return to Him. With my method and worldly methods, we cannot overcome the world. The more hardship and problems come, the more we need to let down our standards and seek God’s method. When you stand boldly before the world by God’s method, you receive an answer that transcends your limitations.
2. You must be within God’s plan
Children of God are the ones who survived only through the Gospel. For the ones who remain have the commission to relay the baton of the covenant to the next generation, they have no choice but to be victorious. You must correctly know your identity as the one to conquer the world with the Gospel and correctly see what it is that God plans to do through you. The one who lets down his greed and thoughts and entrusts everything to God is truly the one who remains.
3. God protects those who remain
God desires to fulfill world evangelization through His children who have the Gospel. There may be persecution and suffering in the work of spreading the Gospel, but it is all right because God is protecting and guiding us. God has promised that He will do it swiftly when His time comes. When we go forward looking at God’s prepared time schedule, God guards and protects the steps of the evangelist. Do not worry; simply stand in the line of evangelism and missions.
