Restoration of family culture
Acts 16:31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and your household.” Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #435 Thou, My Everlasting Portion (#492 in previous version) An ever-increasing number of people have come to spend their free time or relieve stress through internet games or smart phones. With the advancement of science and technology, new equipment and services that help our lives or provide convenience are introduced, but the number of terrible incidents, too, is on the rise with the misuse of such equipment and services. How can we guard ourselves from the wicked and perverted culture of this world and even save those who are wavering?
1. We must not forget the spiritual truth
While some parents have good communication with their children, others parents do not. There are also many people whose parents are divorced or who grew up in an underprivileged family background. Even now our enemy Satan uses many schemes to destroy our lives. By lying to Adam and Eve, Satan, in the beginning, destroyed the family that God had established. We must not forget that what destroys families is not people but the forces of darkness. We must know the spiritual truth in order to fight the spiritual battle.
2. Jesus Christ must become the center
Everything is in Jesus Christ and God has given us the unfailing covenant, and yet our lives always waver helplessly. Even when we are hard-pressed, we just put up with it, and even if things are difficult, we just suffer through them. God did not tell His children to just flatly bear hardships. He desires us to know why Jesus Christ has to be the center of our lives and look to His time schedule.
3. Families that have the Gospel can change the world
If we get accustomed to the culture of darkness, we take pleasure in the secular culture in spite of ourselves and the world just seems ever alluring. Using this fact, Satan hinders us so that children of God waver without any assurance and lose sight of God. It is quite difficult for good future generations to come forth from parents who have fallen into the culture of darkness. In order to save families, raise the future generations and change the world, both the parents and children who have the Gospel must pray together and gain strength.
- The forces of darkness will be bound only when the Word of God is restored within families first. Let us bind the forces of darkness that is at work in our families and family lines and look for God’s plan that is hidden in our family. Core Training Message / 2012.05.12
