What children of God must apply in their lives
Ezekiel 37:1~13 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. (4~5) Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #499 Far, Far Away in Heathen Darkness Dwelling (#277 in previous version) Every time Israel was in danger, God led them to experience the power of the Holy Spirit. The prophet Ezekiel experienced the power of God while praying on the banks of the Kebar River, and in Ezekiel 1:1~3, confirmed the miracles that come to those who believe in the Word of God. What must we do to apply what Ezekiel experienced in our lives?
1. The mystery of prayer that cannot be blocked by anyone
There are people who give their all with a goal in mind no matter how dire the circumstances; on the other hand, there are many others who live their lives haphazardly because of the silver spoon with which they are born. No matter what background they are born into, everyone wants to live a fruitful life without any major incidents. But to live a life befitting to a child of God, we need to know the unchanging covenant, and must enjoy the mystery of prayer that cannot be hindered by anyone in our everyday lives.
2. The grace of God that comes to those who believe
A president who governs a nation, a wealthy industrialist, an intellectual scholar, no matter who they may be, if they do not know God, will live pitifully, and ultimately end their lives without ever knowing the reason why. God is omnipotent and capable of making possible the things man cannot. That is why when a person who receives the grace of God changes his thoughts as befitting a child of God, and asks for His power, he will experience unprecedented miracles.
3. What follows when the work of God is confirmed?
There is no easy thing on earth, and there is nothing that happens quite exactly as we imagine. Even if we were transformed, the world would remain the same. There is no person who remains a carbon copy of themselves for all eternity, or a situation that does not shift. However, God’s work remains steadfast. We need to believe in God and His existence, and must take the time to confirm the eternal work of God. When we confirm God’s work in our lives, we will experience the miracle of the dry bones coming back to life.
- God told us to pray for anything in His name before we face peril. Do not gloss over the Word of God; instead, take the time to meditate on it. Immanuel Church Sunday Worship 1st Service / 2012.5.6
