Urgent healing
Acts 16:16 Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a female slave who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #348 Up, and Fight Against the Devil (#388 in previous version) There was once an orphan who was nearly blind. But she did not resent her circumstances, and was not discouraged by her disability. Instead, she became determined to help others who were just like her. This orphan was Anne Sullivan, who later became the force behind Helen Keller. Once we realize, by the grace of God, that Jesus Christ is the only answer, how can we live for others?
1. We must see the fundamental cause for spiritual problems first
For healing to take place, we need to know the fundamental reason for spiritual problems first. Mankind became sinners condemned to eternal judgment the moment we left God. Additionally, mankind was led to the path of destruction by clinging to Satan (John 8:44). Hence, we are looking for the solution to our spiritual problems in all the wrong places. Spiritual problems can only be healed when we meet God. The moment we meet God, problems become, in fact, the process by which God’s plans are fulfilled.
2. We will see the path to healing through the blessing of meetings
It is hard to even listen to the Word when we are wracked with spiritual problems. That is why we must pray for the blessing of meetings that could lead to help, as well as for a team of people who focus on praying for our spiritual problems. That is because the Word can become solidified into messages toward us through individual fellowship with others, and can have the power to change our thoughts. Conversely if we have the power to help others, we can forge teams to help others in church who are buckling under spiritual problems.
3. We must see God’s plans beyond the problems Our spiritual problems are all a part of God’s plan in call
ing us long ages past. Furthermore, our family spiritual problems are also within God’s plan. When one person is healed through the Gospel and stands upright, the work of an entire family line being revived in the Gospel will take place. Let us not simplistically conflict over our spiritual problems; instead, it is God’s plan that we discover the covenant to save our families and age through our problems.
