Answer to be received by an evangelism disciple
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #455 We Shall be Like Him (#507 in previous version) Jesus called the twelve disciples and was with them as He explained the kingdom of God. Additionally, He told them to receive the filling of the Holy Spirit to become witnesses. Because we cannot evangelize with our own strength, we must receive the filling of the Holy Spirit. We can receive the filling of the Holy Spirit through prayer, but it is God’s promise, and there is a method God desires. What are the answers an evangelism disciple ought to receive, and how can we receive and enjoy these answers?
1. Answers we receive when we let go
The guidance of the Holy Spirit is following the Word of God. To follow the Word of God, we must abandon our own thoughts, ulterior motives, greed and unbelief to follow the way of God. When we analyze all problems through the Gospel, we will experience the work of the Holy Spirit like the wind and fire. When we receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we will be able to let go of all self-centered thoughts before God. When we abandon even a little bit of our own motives within the Gospel in a wholehearted effort to receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we will receive amazing answers.
2. Answers that come when we wait
When children of God pray, the heavenly armies will be mobilized and the forces of darkness will be defeated. This is a blessing children of God ought to enjoy, but in reality, there are many times when we cannot actually enjoy prayer. The biggest reason is because we are unable to wait for God’s answers because of our own thoughts; consequently, we lose hold of the mystery of prayer as well. The 7 Remnants in the Bible all knew how to wait for God’s will, and did not lose hold of the mystery of prayer.
3. Answers hat come when we enjoy
People who cannot receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit waver easily in the face of other people’s words. But God told us to neither worry nor ignore the Holy Spirit. God is waiting for us to properly realize the Gospel and receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The blessings we received are not going to dissipate. When we are within Jesus Christ, we can stand up again after we fall. We must open the eyes of our heart and pray with the hope of God who has called us.
- There are many believers who waver after having forgotten the promise of God. Even if briefly, make a time of prayer to enjoy God’s promises to you. Evangelism Disciple Training Message / 2012.4.24
