10 minutes a day
Isaiah 6:1~13 And though a tenth remains in the land, it will against be laid waste. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down, so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.” (13) Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #366 Open My Eyes, that I May See (#485 in previous version) We go through many problems. The same problem can seem big in one person’s eyes and appear as an opportunity to another. Why are their perceptions different? It is because they look at the problem reflecting from their experiences, knowledge, and beliefs. That is why you easily fall into discouragement if you do not look to God’s plan. Then, how must we begin?
1. 10 minutes a day
If you are filled with persistent experiences of unbelief, competitive thoughts in which you must fight and win against others, and thoughts that you need lots of money in order to succeed, what would happen? What would happen if you live with the same thoughts as those who do not believe in God even after you have become a child of God? You need to have a time of deeply meditating on the Gospel for at least 10 minutes a day. If you take the time to put down your own thoughts and to deeply meditate on the Gospel, your thoughts will be healed by the Gospel and your eyes to see problems and events will change.
2. Reason for problems
If you have 10 minutes a day to put down your thoughts and to meditate only upon the Gospel and the Word, God surely gives you the answer of the filling of the Holy Spirit. If you look at your region, past, and the age with the eyes filled with the Holy Spirit, you can see why the problem came. Although Joseph was sold to Egypt as a slave, he saw the covenant of evangelism and missions that will save Egypt and the age. Prophet Isaiah saw the captivity in Babylon as God’s plan to restore everything through the remaining ones whom God has prepared.
3. Different world
Prophet Isaiah not only knew the reason for suffering but also saw the spiritual realm that people of the world do not know. Also, he gained the commission to relay this Gospel because the world is becoming more desolate and is going down the path of failure from not knowing the Gospel. God did not show only the dark past to Isaiah who held onto the commission, but also showed the remaining disciples who will remain until the end, whom God has hidden in many places.
- Every day for 10 minutes, question and deeply meditate on what the problem of Genesis 3 is that gives us no choice but to fail, what Jesus Christ means, and why Jesus is the Christ. Immanuel Church Sunday Worship 2nd Service / 2012. 4. 22
