Witnesses of Jesus Christ
1 Corinthians 15:1~11 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them – yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. (10) Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #412 Far Away in the Depths of My Spirit (#469 in previous version) The children of God are the disciples of Jesus Christ; they are also the witnesses of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ signify complete salvation. However, when we are faced with various problems in our lives, rather than giving thanks for our salvation, we are not even able to enjoy the fact that we have been saved. What kind of blessing is the salvation that I have received? And how can I enjoy this blessing?
1. Salvation is the solution to all things (Ephesians 2:1~7)
Jesus Christ came to the earth, died on the cross, and resurrected in three days. This is not a myth or a simple event in history. By Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection 2,000 years ago, we have been set free from our sins and curses, and we have been set free from the fate of having no choice but to face suffering from Satan. Also, the future problem of having no choice but to go to hell after we die has been solved. If we are unaware of this fact, even after having received salvation, we become deceived by present problems and face suffering from hardships.
2. He meets the criteria to be the Savior
In order to save mankind, the Savior must be sinless. A person who has already received the death sentence cannot die for someone else’s crime. The moment that we have been born in this world, we are born as sinners. As a result, Jesus who is sinless must die for our sins. In addition, as evidence that Jesus is God, He resurrected in three days. Jesus Christ who is the Savior died on the cross and resurrected, and through that, the powers of Satan have been broken and Jesus became the way to meet God. When we deeply meditate on this fact, we can restore the thanksgiving for our salvation.
3. How can we enjoy the blessing of salvation?
Salvation is not obtained by efforts, diligence, good works, or knowledge. We must confess Jesus to be my Christ (Romans 10:9~10) and accept Him into my heart as the Lord of my life. (John 1:12) If Jesus becomes my Lord, we live not by our own strength or power but by God’s power of creation. Also, the Holy Spirit is always with me and is leading me. The working of the Holy Spirit will arise in my life and we will come to live a life of testifying of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
-The start for the children of God must be only Gospel and only the working and guidance of the Holy Spirit. We must restore our gratitude for our salvation and give all glory to God through only faith. Immanuel Church Sunday Worship 2nd Service / 2012.4.8
