The things that change when we stand before God
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #183 There Shall be Showers of Blessing (#172 in previous version)
There are many people who have received salvation as children of God, but still think according to their own thoughts and judgments, chase after their own profit, and live their walk of faith centered on themselves. If you cannot communicate deeply with God, you become swayed to one side and live a life centered on yourself. Satan hinders the children of God from communicating with God. Only when we stand before God do we gain the strength to fight the spiritual fight. What changes when we stand before God?
1. Our eyes to see begin to change
Occasionally, we are faced with unexpected problems, and at those times, we sometimes avoid the problem or make decisions based on our own judgments. Depending on what is inside of our thoughts and our minds, our eyes to see everything change, and as a result, our behaviors are adjusted as well. Peter didn’t think much of the crippled man that he saw on a regular basis. Then, one day, he realized that what he needed was not money but the Gospel. When the Word of God became inscribed upon Peter’s life and thoughts, his eyes to see began to change.
2. The words you speak begin to change
Peter confessed that Jesus is the Christ, then denied knowing Jesus three times at the threat of death and ran away. He fell into discouragement and went back to fishing. At this time, Jesus goes to him again and restores in him the commission of being a child of God. There are times when we deny Jesus like Peter, but we must believe in God who knows our hearts and confess that He is the solution to all problems. At that time, the words we speak will begin to change.
3. We come to know the promise of God
We can make mistakes in moments of weakness like Peter; we can even give up on everything because our circumstances are not to our liking. However, we must be aware of the fact that Satan is prowling around like a roaring lion, trying to lead the children of God into destruction. Peter fell many times and he even denied Jesus, but Jesus never cast Peter aside; rather, He gave him new strength. God’s promise does not change.
-God says to believe in His promise and wait. When problems approach you and you want to give up everything, stop and think about the promise that God has given to you through the Word this week. Core Training Message / 2012.4.7
