We must resolve the fundamental problems
Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #351 Onward, Christian Soldiers (#389 in previous version)
Mankind was put under the control of the forces of darkness the moment they were separated from God. The reason why they fail repeatedly is that they worship idols and keep themselves away from God’s Word. Separated from God, people can live as men should only when they have the fundamental problems resolved. What are the fundamental problems?
1. The problem of Genesis 3
God created man and woman and greatly blessed their family. However, Satan destroyed humankind, whom God had blessed as the first thing before anything else, as well as family. Satan continues to deceive humankind so that they can never meet God again and divides families so that they can’t stay together. Knowing the strategy of Satan, God promised that He would destroy the head of the serpent through the offspring of the woman, namely Jesus Christ. This problem must be resolved in order for the blessing that God has given to families to be restored.
2. The problem of Genesis 6
You may be an intellectual with great scholarly knowledge or have a lot of money, but if you are separated from God, you are living a life without worth. If people who are separated from God do not come inside the ark of Jesus Christ, there is no way for them to find the solution to disasters, curses and sufferings. Not only is there no way, they cannot understand it because they are in a state of separation from God. As time passes, the world is being covered more and more with the culture of darkness and people are becoming fortresses of knowledge or slaves to money. Starting now we must begin the prayer of breaking away from our sense of values, which had been estranged from God, and from disasters.
3. The problem of Genesis 11
The forces of darkness hate God and humankind becoming one. If we are not aware of how the problems we have began, we cannot receive answers. Without knowing the reason why God commanded him to leave Ur and go to the land of Canaan, Abraham continued to wander. Ur was a land of idolatry and a place where the forces of darkness had taken control. Just like Abraham who left Ur, which was full of the forces of darkness, and bound his unbelief and prayed in order to go to the land of Canaan where the Messiah was to come, we must make the resolution of faith.
