Going all-in for the Gospel means to devote your entire life for the Gospel. Many find devotion burdensome or difficult, but it is not by your strength. There are numerous people in the world who are suffering without the Gospel. The Gospel can resolve everything in one instant. If you know the value of the Gospel, devotion follows, and when you stake your life on the Gospel you will find your self-identity. How can you discover the value of the Gospel and go all-in?
1. Hannah’s all-in
Hannah, Samuel’s mother, always prayed for a son but was never granted one. One day, she realized the covenant of a Nazarite (1 Samuel 1:9~11) and determined to give her son to God. When Hannah discovered the will of God, He granted her a son named Samuel, and through Samuel the covenant was restored to all of Israel and its descendants. The blessing of changing the era was fulfilled through Hannah who uncovered the plan of God.
2. Samuel’s all-in
Samuel grew up in the temple, before the Ark of the Covenant, which is the Word of God. The Ark symbolized the many works God had performed and the Word to be fulfilled in the future. Samuel knew the importance of the Ark and believed God would guide him as He had promised. Knowing the meaning of the Ark, Samuel was able to go all-in for the work of God. God showed Samuel the future and started the Gospel movement through him.
3. Answers that follow
Because he went all-in for the Word that God promised, Samuel received answers to the extent that not a single word he spoke fell to the ground. Through Samuel, the Mizpah movement that saved the Israelites took place (1 Samuel 7:1~15), and wars ceased in Israel for as long as Samuel was alive. Likewise, when you give your life to God, He will govern and guide, taking responsibility for everything.
