A new start
Exodus 2:1~10 When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, “I drew him out of the water.” (10)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #64 Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee (#13 in previous version)
Although Moses grew up listening to the Word of God from his mother, he killed an Egyptian who was beating an Israelite and ran away to the wilderness. Although Moses’ life was a failure in the eyes of the world, after he received God’s calling at Mt. Horeb, he met with a turning point in his life. Just like Moses’ life changed on Mt. Horeb, children of God must receive guidance from the Word and start anew. How can we start?
1. You must grab hold of the covenant of salvation
God saved me through Jesus Christ. If you realize the fact that Jesus Christ solved all your problems the problems in front of your eyes are no longer problems. If you have received salvation having come out from darkness and the forces of curses, it means that your status has completely changed into a child of God. When you grab hold of the promise of salvation and nothing else, God gives you the grace to transcend the world and your environment.
2. There is work that God desires to fulfill through me
God desires to fulfill His plan through me. Even though it appears there are many problems, hardships are all God’s method to train me. If you are bound by the scars of your past, you cannot see the will of God. Try thinking about all the problems that arise for me through God’s standard. When you make your past problems and spiritual problems into your platform and look at incidents with spiritual eyes, you will realize that God will wholly guide your today and future, and fill all your needs.
3. There is a plan God has prepared for me
God has solved all your problems, but if you think about your future, worries seem to be right in front of you. However, if you confirm your status that you are a child of God and look at your past problems from a spiritual perspective, God will show you the future. Through minor problems, God is preparing His plan. God had prepared the suffering that Moses experienced in the field for the sake of his future. If you discover the plan of God, your past, today and future become renewed in the Word.
-When you discover your status of having received salvation as a child of God and God’s will and plan, your past, present and future become renewed. As you deeply meditate upon the Word, find God’s plan and blessings in the situation and problems God has given you. Immanuel Church Sunday Worship 2nd Service / 2012.2.5
