Strength and answers that are unseen to the eyes
Acts 18:1~4 There he met a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome. Paul went to see them, and because he was a tentmaker as they were, he stayed and worked with them. (2~3)

Have you ever confronted a once-in-a-lifetime crisis? Have you ever had any experience so absurd and preposterous that you can’t seem to shake off the feeling of being wronged and humiliated? If you listen to the words of the successful, they tell you to ride out the crises and difficulties, but our present reality is not as easy as it sounds. Yet if we just avoid the circumstances that are nearing only to forget the immediate troubles, the problems will remain the same and nothing will be resolved. In order for us to completely transcend our circumstances, problems, and hardships today, God desires to provide us with hidden power. How can we take and enjoy it as our own?
1. The first hidden power (Acts 1:1)
The Early Church had the fundamental answer to life. They knew that Jesus is the Christ and with that name gained the answer to their lives. They enjoyed not only heaven, which was assured in their future, but also the kingdom of God while they were living upon this earth. They solely received the filling of the Holy Spirit and saved and changed the world. When we focus solely on praying for Jesus Christ, the kingdom of God, and the filling of the Holy Spirit just as the believers of the Early Church did, we will gain the power that is unseen to the eyes.
2. The second hidden power (Acts 2:1)
When we realize and enjoy the Gospel, God will be at work and fulfill His Word. The works like wind and fire that people could not stop took place, the doors of evangelism began to open, and the Word of God came to fulfillment. 3,000 disciples who heard the Word of God arose and changed the field. Though they were met with various problems and persecutions, they gained strength and answers continued to overflow to the point that nothing posed as a problem.
3. The answers that follow (Acts 3:1)
When we gain the power that God provides for us and see the evidence of God who works in our field, we will come to see the things that we haven’t noticed before. If we read Acts 18, it may appear as though crises came upon Priscilla and Aquila but they met with evangelist Paul and were used as individuals who changed their age. Because God is with us, we are okay no matter where we are and what kind of circumstances we face. We no longer need to worry or wander. God knows all too well our circumstances and situations.
Do we have the mystery by which we can gain the power that is unseen to the eyes? When we enjoy Jesus Christ, the kingdom of God and the filling of the Holy Spirit today, we will gain the power that God is providing for us. Pray to receive the strength to overcome all situations and problems. Young Adult Leaders Retreat Lecture 1 / 2012.1.14
